20 August 2010 Ulrick and Short Ltd seeking R&D Technologist Member News
Location: Office/Kitchen based Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
West Yorkshire based Ulrick & Short Limited are one the UK leading ingredient companies, specializing in the development, manufacture and supply of clean label starches, functional flours, fat replacers and bakery glazes.
Due to an internal promotion a position within the development department has become available. Reporting to the R&D Manager the successful candidate will be involved a range of work from sample preparation to analysing of new ingredients to giving support during customer specific work and trials.
The role is office based (just south of Pontefract) with travel as required (to support the sales team).

Job Description
Management and Preparation of Finished product samples to customers:
- Running the sample log on SharePoint
- Stock control of sample preparation materials (tubs/boxes etc)
- Making up of samples
- Taking to post office / arranging courier delivery.
- Maintaining Walton Wood sample stock
- Cost Record
Prepare and dispatch finished application samples:
- Maintain records as with product samples
- Produce and dispatched finished application samples (e.g. delyte in muffins)
Customer technical support:
- Telephone support as required
- Kitchen support during Customer visits to U&S
- Support of JS carrying out customer specific application work
- On site trial support as required
Tried & Tested Program:
- Profiling of products
- Application testing of products
- Marinating and update bulletins for use by the sales team.
